Tiny House Design & Building Process
Every tiny house we design and build for our Garland, TX, customers starts with framing. Depending on the tiny house model, the framing can take anywhere from five to seven days. Afterward, the exterior siding is installed before we install the wheel well insulation on the home’s interior. Roofing is done next using high-quality underlayment, water barriers, shingles, and other roofing materials.
A master electrician will install the HVAC next, followed by electrical installation throughout the tiny house. Interior spray foam will follow, followed by plumbing, before we install all the interior amenities, such as the kitchen, microwave, bathroom, and living areas.
How Long Does It Take To Build a Tiny Home?
Every tiny house built by Decathlon Construction is made by a master HVAC installer, electrician, plumber, and state-licensed and fully insured contractors. Depending on the model purchased, a tiny house can be built within four to six weeks.
What Permits Do You Need for a Tiny Home?
The state of Texas is incredibly accommodating to owning a tiny house. Outside some minor zoning laws and regulations, no permits are required to own a tiny house. Decathlon Construction has already accounted for these variables, while a tiny house must respect a specific size and dimension.
